Kauno Žalgiris has strengthened its squad with another talented Lithuanian player, the club announced on Wednesday.
Romualdas Jansonas has joined the Kauno Žalgiris squad, which is currently in Cyprus for a preseason training camp. The club has signed the young striker on a long-term contract.
The 19-year-old forward, represented by AG Consulting and Management, is a product of Vilnius Žalgiris' academy. He made his senior team debut at just 17 years old and, in 2024, earned his first cap for the Lithuanian national team.
Wearing the senior Vilnius Žalgiris jersey, R. Jansonas has already made nearly 50 appearances in the Lithuanian top flight, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
So far, R. Jansonas has made his biggest impact in the UEFA Youth League — in 2024, the striker scored six goals in the competition and was among its top scorers. He also found the net in a match against Manchester United’s youth team.
