Marius Adamonis Completes Move to FK Žalgiris Vilnius

Marius Adamonis has completed his move to FK Žalgiris Vilnius, beginning a new chapter in his career in the Lithuanian capital.
The experienced goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with Žalgiris, with an option to extend the deal for an additional season.
AG Football Agency was involved in the intermediary process behind the transfer, with Alanas Gulbinas and Tadas Simaitis representing the agency during the deal.
Adamonis will be officially registered as a Žalgiris player at the beginning of 2027, when the new player registration period opens.
Born in Panevėžys, Adamonis began his football journey at his hometown football academy before joining Klaipėda's FK Atlantas in 2015, where he made his first appearances in Lithuanian top-flight football.
At the beginning of 2016, the goalkeeper was loaned to English Premier League club AFC Bournemouth. Later that summer, he moved to Italian giants Lazio.
Adamonis remained under contract with Lazio until 2024 and spent time on loan with several Italian clubs, including Salernitana, Casertana, Catanzaro, Sicula Leonzio and Perugia. He was also registered as a reserve goalkeeper for Lazio's Serie A squad.
He made his Serie B debut in 2017 with Salernitana.
During the 2023–24 season, Adamonis established himself as a key player for Perugia, making 36 appearances in Serie C.
In the summer of 2024, the Lithuanian goalkeeper moved to Sicily to join Catania, where he spent the first half of the season.
In January 2025, Adamonis moved to northern Italy and joined Südtirol. During his time with the Bolzano-based club, he made 52 appearances over a year and a half.
Last season, Adamonis featured in 36 Serie B matches, keeping 10 clean sheets.
On the international stage, Adamonis has represented Lithuania at various youth levels. In November 2022, he made his senior national team debut and has continued to receive call-ups to the Lithuanian national team, including this year.
Now, the 29-year-old goalkeeper returns to Lithuania to take on a new challenge with FK Žalgiris Vilnius.
